Poetry as a Tool For Wellness
Facilitated by Kristin Thompson and Athena McClendon Duration: Eight weeks Fridays, May 6–June 24 4:00-6:00 pm Pacific (please adjust for your time zone) Online via Zoom For centuries, people have turned to poetry to help them explore meaning, experiences, feelings, and a way forward. Poetry as a Tool for Wellness helps meet this human need to connect through our words and the words of others to ourselves, our world, and to one another. You are invited to engage with a small group of participants to experience this empowering gift of poetry. Under the guidance of skilled Facilitators, poetry and poem-making will be introduced as a sturdy and effective tool for enhancing wellness. While this is not a direct facilitator training, anyone interested in pursuing facilitating (or who may have already taken our facilitator training course) will greatly benefit from this experience as a participant in a poetic medicine circle.
