The true impact of the work of the community that surrounds The Institute of Poetic Medicine is larger than we can perceive—it is a Tapestry of Impact that weaves the healing words of one person, community, place through the network of another. Together we are stronger, brighter and more complete than we could ever be apart.

Program Impact

The programs that we offer through our online series options as well as through our Poetry Partners create a different experience for each community they serve. We are in the process of collecting data that will allow you to take a deeper look at the impact these programs have had on the facilitators and participants over the years.

Personal Impact

Each person's experience with poetry and poetic medicine is different, personal and individual. We have been fortunate to share in these personal moments, insights and transformations as members of our community have shared their personal experiences with us in the form of poems, stories and testimonials.

Lasting Impact

It is perhaps impossible to show the full impact of poetic medicine on someone's life and the lives that they touch. Perhaps it is a moment of calm or an increased awareness of the world around them, a deeper look at a difficult situation, or a light in dark times. Poetry can save lives. A poem can touch lives. We all have poetry inside us.
